Heheheheheheheheh….and just as cheeky too. He was so totally unafraid even when I was inches away, just on the other side of the sliding glass door. What a hoot!!!
Aw…so cute in the 2nd photo in that pose. I remember in the States, though, the little buggers ripping my bird feeders apart…and then there was the raccoon who simply knocked it off the wall and busted it open. I rarely see a squirrel over here.
The squirrels are merciless with bird feeders. I finally gave up and put the feed in a dish.
I haven’t seen any raccoons since the spring but I used to have to bring the birdseed in at night because the raccoons would empty the dish every time.
In the top photo its little hands look so cute. It almost makes me forget my fear of them. Then I look at the bottom photo where it looks ready to pounce and is looking at me from the corner of its eye ………… 🙂
These squirrels are actually very bold as long as the sliding glass door is closed, but they’re afraid of people, so no worries about pouncing squirrels here.
LOL! After all those years of putting chili peppers in the feeder and spraying repellent around the tree, I finally gave up and left some corn and peanuts out for our resident skwrls. That didn’t satisfy them at all, however! They would come up to the kitchen window while I was working and pound on the glass: “Hey, ladeee! Hungry out here!”
I tried the chili peppers and other deterrents, but nothing worked. I finally gave up.
The squirrels really do get cheeky don’t they??!! They come up to the the sliding glass door and look in the window at me. The birds do too. The squirrels and birds can be so hilarious.
Her N-ness sometimes plants her front feet squarely in her food – usually only with her daily bit of pellets, though. Part of this is because she then tilts the paper plate with her feet, so that all the pellets slide down to her end of the plate…
When I got up that morning I noticed the sky/atmosphere had a green tint, which was kind of an ominous sign. I don’t know what causes the green tint, but it’s especially common during spring and summer tornado weather. I’ve never seen it in December before. Thankfully we didn’t have any damage.
IKWYM about that ominous green tint. (Would like to know what causes it.)
I think I *have* seen it in winter before, but that was a while ago – back when I lived in a lake-effect snow belt. (Saw a raging thunder/lightning storm during a heavy snowfall once – crazy weather due, I think, mainly to the lake effect deal.)
What was so strange is that the green tint was evident hours before the storms even hit. I think it was in the 60s on the day before the storms, then a cold front came in like a freight train. We were very lucky here. The worst of the storms hit about 8 miles southeast of us.
I’d also like to know what causes the green tint. Lightening and thunder during a snowstorm would be awesome.
Wow… that’s scary! (Everything that you described.) So glad you’re OK, but man… those poor people who got hit. : (
The thunderstorm during the snowstorm was like something out of a sci-fi movie. I found it frightening, because I was in a car at the time (though not driving) and we drove right under the worst of the lightning – phew!!!
We’re really glad too!! There were a total of 10 tornadoes in the St. Louis metro area. It turned out that one touched down 2 miles from here!!! I didn’t even know it because the local media didn’t report that one until much later. We were so lucky. A lot of homes and businesses were destroyed.
Squirrelio’s cuter than ever!
Heheheheheheheheh….and just as cheeky too. He was so totally unafraid even when I was inches away, just on the other side of the sliding glass door. What a hoot!!!

OMG…I just realised Max was a squirrel in his last life. Had to be…he even makes their noises.
Heehee….what kind of squirrel-like behaviors and noises does he do?? What a ho0t!!!

Thanks so very much!!! Happy New Year to you as well!!!
Checking in to make sure you made it through the storms okay.
Thanks very much, DB!! We were very lucky. There was lots of damage from a tornado that that hit about 8 miles southeast of us, but we’re just fine.
Thanks again for checking!
HAAAAAA!!!!!
Nothing like standing in the middle of dinner to show who’s in charge!
Great!!! 🙂
great comment – and true of bunnies, too!
LB, I am SO glad to see the return of Squirrelio!
No kidding!!! Isn’t that funny?? It’s like he’s elbow deep.

Hehehehehehehehe….let them come to her of course!! Sounds like a very useful strategy.
Thanks so much!!!
Wait…the tornadoes were that close to you? (((((((hugs)))))))
Thanks for the hugs!!
