Wet and Wild !!

My community had a dog swim last night.  Dogs and their owners took to the pool with surprising abandon.  This was no bark at the park.  It was an all out wet and wild free for all.

Who knew dogs were so good at water ballet??

This one couldn’t decide which ball.

I caught this sweetie pie peeking around a shoulder.

And this one made a big score.

But amidst all the chaos, this guy was so incredibly calm.

It was a lovely evening to be poolside.

Great photos. I bet that was lots of fun for all–dogs and owners.

      Thanks so very much!!!

It reminded me of a schoolyard full of kids. Dogs were EVERYWHERE chasing and barking and flopping and fetching. Complete chaos, but no fights. Lots of fun.

      Thanks again!!!

  2. OH THE CUTE!!!! That first shot, the colors are SO yummy!!! I wanna scritch all these pups right by their ears 😀

Thank you soooooo much!!! It was VERY hard to get good photos of dogs in action. They are so fast and you have to protect your camera from the belly floppers!! Hehehehehe….it was LOTS of fun!!!

Awww~* they are so so cute and looked very sweet and friendly. I think Dogs are good swimmers ( except my maui, he is scared of the Ocean the first time we took him there).. Love the 1st photo 🙂 Cuz he looks piggy!

Thank you very, very much!!! The first photo is my fave of the night too. The color was really vivid and the dog is smiling so pretty. There was one dog there who could barely swim, but the owner was right there and the dog looked like he or she was having logs of fun. 😀

What a precious post. I adore dogs and these are such cute and handsome dogs. They are sure having a wonderful time!!

    • LBeeeze says:

Thank you so very much!!! When I saw the poster for the dog swim about a month ago I knew I had to be there. I rushed home from worked and jetted straight there. The action was already going on but there were still lots of dogs and owners still coming. It was a blast. At one point there had to be 100 dogs there….and no fights!!!

  5. Aussie Emjay says:

Did the owners go in the water too – or just the dogs?

    • LBeeeze says:

YES….lots of people were also in the water….at their own peril cause there were “accidents” in the water. They were getting cleaned up right away, but still, ewwwwwwww!!! No way would I go in that water!!!

      Thanks soooo much!!!!

Fabulous. One of my American friends (can I say that as an ex-pat?) has a pool and her Alsatian absolutely loves it. When we were visiting her in June, the dog practically stayed in the pool (as well as my husband – it was 37 c). Great photos.

    • LBeeeze says:

I bet your friend’s Alsatian was much more polite in the pool than some of the pups were the other night.

I can’t speak for your husband. Perhaps he was rude.

      Hehehehehehehehehehe…..I am so bad!!!

For sure most dogs do seem to love to play in water. I used to have two English Bulldogs and one of them in particular would not allow anyone to take a bath alone….not if she could help it!!! She was hilarious.

      Thanks soooo much!!!!

What a fun thing to do in the summer! The dogs look so happy in the water.

    • LBeeeze says:

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many dogs together in one place before. At one point I think there must have been 100…running and barking and chasing balls. It was a free for all. I’m so glad I got to go.

      Thank you so much!!!!

    I love that top photo!

I can just imagine if all those dog starting shaking the water off at the same time 🙂

    • LBeeeze says:

      Thank you very, very much!!!!

I got shook on over and over again. I had to be really fast at turning around to keep my camera dry. My bag was kind of around toward my back so it was really wet by the time I left. It was lots of fun.

    [this is good]
Great photos! I’m glad they all got along ‘swimmingly’.

    • LBeeeze says:

Hahahahahahahahahahaha….I LOVE the [this is good] thing. Awesome….just like home!!!

You look so much better with your avatar. Yays!!!

      Thanks so very much!!!!

You are a good photographer! Very entertaining. Sounds like a blast.

  11. Lovely pictures 🙂 And what a fun idea, to have that kind of get-together!

    • LBeeeze says:

Thank you so, so much!!!! The pool officially closed to people on Monday, so they did this on Tuesday evening before they started to get it ready for the winter. It’s a great idea because the fee that the dog owners paid for their dogs to participate raised money to maintain the pool.

  12. capnstephel says:

Weeee! Looks like they had a lot of fun out there!

  13. akamonsoon says:

What a great idea! How fun for both dogs and owners.

    • LBeeeze says:

I think so too. Some of the dogs were a bit freaked out but most were so revved up and happy. It’s a great idea because the fees the dog owners pay for their dogs to participate helps raise money to maintain the pool, and besides, it’s LOTS of fun.

      Thank you so much!!!

  14. littleoddme says:

I’m glad to hear this was right before the pool closed. I was thinking dirty human bottoms in a pool is almost enough to stop me wanting to swim in one, without adding dog bottoms and the scintillating scent of wet dog fur. 😛

    • LBeeeze says:

HEY THERE!!! I’m so glad to see you!! Oh, for sure….the pool closed to humans on Monday and they did the big dog swim on Tuesday evening. For real, I smelled like a wet dog when I got in the car!!!

It was lots of fun though.

      Thanks lots and lots!!!

    LBEEEEEEEEEEZEEEEEYYY!!!

I got losted and couldn’t find yer blob, but here it is! YAY!!!
Oh what fun having a dog swim!
And of course the Great Dane would be the calm one. Calli is our calm brave leader, except for each evening from approximately 730 until 900 pm when she walks to each of the windows and BOOFS, to let any intruders know that she is on guard!
    They are such great dogs!

    • LBeeeze says:

Oh, I’m so excited to seeeeees you!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL…..I can just imagine Calli Boofing at the windows. I totally can imagine what it must sound like. I love it!!!

You won’t believe what happened when I tried to get a photo of the Great Dane. He walked over and leaned on me. I tried again a few minutes later and he did the same thing. A little later some people were petting him and his just walked away and came over and leaned on me. His owners just glared at me. What could I do???

      Thanks lots and lots!!!

      • Lauri says:

That is exactly what Cal does. Leans on us until she almost knocks us over!
Or gives us what we call “headhugs”. Pushes her head into our stomachs…also knocking us back a few steps.
        They are such loves!!!

  18. I would have loved to be there! great shots!
