The Pig Plan…

Pig determined Squirrelio's snarky comment could not go unanswered, so he asked Cousin Patsy Pig to help him with the Pig Plan.

Squirrelio said, "Oh, my," when she saw Golden Apple tied so tight and high.

She knew no matter how tall she stood, she could not reach Golden Apple.

Squirrelio was so frustrated she even asked the photographer for help.

Then she angrily told Pig, "I'll bite your bacon if I can't have Golden Apple!"

Not to be outdone by Pig, Squirrelio's frustration soon turned to determination.  She stretched and stretched and inched and inched ever closer to Golden Apple.

She chewed through the first restraining rope…

Then deftly chewed through the remaining rope…

And with a dash of flash and frenetic frenzy…

Squirrelio pilfered Golden Apple…without even stopping to tell Pig, "I told you so!!"

  23. YGRS says:

Squirrels are great aren't they? They're adapters and survivors. You wouldn't think it'd be possible to balance/climb across a string, would you? Very funny!I bet he even enjoys the mental stimulation of the challenge. Love his little kinked tail. &:o)

  24. YGRS says:

Just for the record, do we know if Squirrelio is a boy or a girlio??

  25. LBeeeze says:

If you took all the floof off of a squirrel's tail it would look very similar to a rat, and rats are notoriously intelligent and resourceful, so I can't help but wonder how intelligent squirrels are. They do seem to have good problem solving skills and I know very little will stop them from getting what they want.

  26. aww that's so nice of U. The pink piggy looked so cute there and darker pink on its snout makes it look like nose-bleeding because he is scared teeeheee ^q^ but looked like he is going to cry ~! poooor cute piggy~

  32. That was an awesome idea!!
    Great job LBeeeze!!

  33. YGRS says:

When I had a house, we had sliding glass doors in the kitchen that led to a deck on the back. We had bird feeders but I also used to buy big bags of peanuts (in shells) to throw out for the blue jays & squirrels. We used to love sitting & watching them. If I didn't throw peanuts out at the "regular" time, the squirrels would come up to the door and peer inside, trying to find out what was up – where were the peanuts. There was a female who had something wrong with her and she leaned to one side & walked funny. We named her Eugene and the other squirrels were kind of mean at her. &:o(The bluejays were funny too. They'd spend alot of time looking at all the peanuts, like they were trying to pick out the perfect peanut. It'd crack us up because sometimes, they'd fly BACK a couple of minutes later, with the peanut they chose still in their beak, they'd gently place the peanut BACK on the deck and then look around for a different one! Me & the kids & our cats got many many hours of enjoyment watching the squirrels & birds.Your Squirrelio tales are funny, LB! And you're getting great pictures. &:o)

  34. LBeeeze says:

    Thanks soooooooo much!!!

  35. LBeeeze says:

OMGosh……that's hysterical about the jays taking their time to pick just the right peanut and then brining them back to pick another. For real, that's just hysterical. I can't believe they actually brought the peanuts back!!! You'd think they'd just drop them somewhere. Too funny!!

  36. LBeeeze says:

Too bad the other squirrels were so mean to Eugene. An injured squirrel doesn't last that long in the wild….your peanuts must have insured that she got enough to eat.

  37. YGRS says:

That was so weird to us, too — why didn't the jays just drop the peanut when they decided it wasn't the one they wanted? They would actually fly to the deck rail and sit there for a couple of seconds, then hop down to the deck and place the peanut back on the deck. It was really weird. We also loved watching the squirrels run off with a peanut and then quick bury it. Sometimes they'd just put the peanut on the ground and then pick up a leaf and put it on top of the peanut, then run back for more. Like they didn't even have time to bury it properly — here's a leaf on top, that's good enough. Goofy squirrels. I'm enjoying your squirrelio pics & story, LB. Too bad you can't find someone to pay you to do it!

  38. LBeeeze says:

Maybe the jays brought the peanuts back because they didn't want to waste them….as long as there were others to choose from they could bring them back and choose another, then leave the bring-backs for later. Whatever the reason, it's fascinating that they brought them back!!

  39. YGRS says:

ooh a squirrelio book! I'd buy it! &:o)They'll love u even more if u buy them peanuts! They probably already feel like they're at a fancy restaurant, with all the goodies you put out for them.

  40. LBeeeze says:

Awwwwwwwwww…..THANKS!!! I'll definitely look for some peanuts. There's so many things you could do with the peanuts to make the Squirrelios work for them!!!

  41. YGRS says:

I'll be looking forward to more squirrelio adventures & pics! &:o)

  42. Lauri says:
