This brings back memories. I used to feed a fat little squrriel who frequented our balcony. He was first a cute little squirrel he bacame a cute little fat squirrel because we fed him so much. Keep feeding this one and he'll be cute and fat also. Oh what fun. These little creatures bring such joy!

Aren't they so much fun to watch ??!! It's about time to put out my bird feeder again, except the squirrels don't let the birds have much. They spend a lot of time chasing each other away. They're hilarious !! They get to where they will come up to the door like they're saying "we want more !!"

everyone has *one* animal that TOTALLY unglues them. the animal that if you were a POW and the other side wanted you to talk, all they'd have to do is SHOW you the animal before letting it loose on you in a room and you'd spill everything you know. rats are mine. so there'll be no chicken accusations!

lol (and apology accepted). agreed, roaches have a high hideous factor. i can certainly understand why they'd be someone's Terror Creature. It's very interesting because there's a short list of creatures that are the archetypal terror creatures in the human consciousness. Snakes are one. Spiders. Rodents. Dunno whether cockroaches are specifically but certain insects, yes.
I had heard that about snakes, but didn't know rodents were also on the list of intuitively feared creatures….today's nugget of new knowledge.

Great photos! I love the hands of the squirrel, something ancient and o so very human about them. I used to cook in a vegetarian restaurant and the squirrels were the cute fuzzy bane of my existence. They'd scamper up and down my body as I carried pots in from the outdoor storage room and freezer. One time, I was eating and turned away to speak to someone and when I turned back, one of those little f****kers was doing a victory dance in my plate, while another one was carting off my lunch. Lucy, with squirrel PTSD : )
